Summer Reading Program

DE COLORES SUMMER READING PROGRAM
JUNE 7 – AUGUST 16, 2014

Art by John Parra
Why read this summer?
Research shows that kids who don’t read during their summer break fall behind in reading while kids who do, maintain their reading skills and even excel.*

The De Colores Summer Reading Program is perfect for children/youth ages 5-16 who want to enjoy their summer alongside their favorite stories.

How does the De Colores Summer Reading Program work?

1.  Stop by La Casa Azul Bookstore between Saturday, June 7 and Saturday, August 16, 2013 to register.
2. Choose a selection of books that interest you, and read!
The books that you read this summer can be books you have at home, that you borrow from the library or that you purchase at La Casa Azul Bookstore.
3.
Keep track of what you read in the reading log we provide, a list of recommended book titles is also available.
Pick up the recommended book list at La Casa Azul Bookstore or download the pdf file attached below.
4. Turn in the reading log to the bookstore on August 16, earn a Certificate of Completion when you’re done!

The program is free but parent/guardian must register the child for the reading program.
